(editor: I found this on Facebook by 'the New Orthodox Benedictine Community'. It help to express our ministering 'in the world' and not living in a monastery. Tell me what you think.)

Contemplation in action or action in
contemplation? Monks in the world or what? St. Basil had a vision of
monastics living within the larger community. The Jerusalem community
speaks of monastics in the heart of the world and the heart of the city.
The Taize community sends small groups of monks out to live in the
poorest places for no other reason except to be a presence there.
The New Benedictine Community seeks nothing more than to be a leaven
within our local communities. We pray, serve as we can, and offer a
prophetic and contemplative vision for what life might be like with some
undivided focus and some community support.
Peace.
(editor: how does this relate to us?)
